Get in touch

Contact Sunshine Coast SAR.

For a search & rescue emergency, dial 9-1-1.

Sunshine Coast SAR does not take direct emergency calls from the public, and we do not monitor this website, email or socials for emergency requests. We are dispatched exclusively through the 9-1-1 system by official requesting agencies, including the RCMP, BC Ambulance Service, Fire Rescue, and the BC Coroners Service.

In an emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately and ask for the police or ambulance.

Common questions

Can I call you directly in an emergency?

No. We are dispatched exclusively through 911. Call 911 and ask for the police — they will request SAR if appropriate. Do not try to call us directly; you will delay the response.

How much does a rescue cost?

Nothing. There is no cost to individuals who require our assistance. We are fully funded by public donations and fundraising.

Can you come and speak at our school or event?

Yes — we regularly participate in community education. Send us an email with your request and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Are you currently recruiting volunteers?

Not at this time. We recruit every 2–3 years. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to be notified when our next intake opens. See the Membership page for details on what's involved.

How can I support the team financially?

Donations are always welcome and go directly to equipment, training, and operational costs. Visit our Donate page for options including the Robert Allen Memorial Endowment.
